CAPIO is a sci-fi psychological thriller exploring what happens when technological progress advances without checks and balances — eroding touch, love, freedom, and our connection to the natural world.
Logline
An amateur astronomer discovers a strange new star that leads him into the heart of a dark conspiracy exploiting humanity’s addiction to technology.
Blending mystery, sci-fi, and dreamlike realism, CAPIO explores the intersection of technology, perception, and control of the human mind.
The idea for CAPIO began in 2008 from a recurring dream.
For years, the project tried to get support through film markets, grant applications, and industry meetings —without securing support.
In 2017, through my company Kostic Films, I moved into full independent production—self-financing and shooting the film in NYC and and few scenes in Serbia.
The final stage required building a dedicated 3D and VFX team from scratch after years of searching for collaborators who aligned with the film’s visual language and budget.
All visual work was created without the use of AI, emphasizing a fully handcrafted approach to the film’s design and execution.
The film was completed in 2025.
